About Us

Foothill Oak Elementary School is located in Vista, California.  We serve approximate 565 students in grades TK-5 and host approximately 44 PreK students with our preschool partners, Educational Enrichment Systems.

English is the primary language of 25% of our students and 97% of our students learning English as a second language speak Spanish as their primary language.  Approximately 2% of our students with a home language other than English enter into school already fluent in English, 25% have reached English proficiency while enrolled in school and 50% are on their way to become proficient in English.

While all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch daily, 93% qualify as socioeconomically disadvantaged.  Our Speech & Language and Specialized Academic Instruction programs serve about 11% of our students and our SDCOE Migrant Education Program serves approximately 10% of our students.  Approximately 18% of our students are homeless and 1% are foster youth. In all, our "unduplicated count" is 95.32%.

Our staff is uniquely passionate about serving our community through an inclusive and personalized model of education to assure that each student receives the academic and support services they need to make continuous progress and develop as learners and leaders.
